EMERGENCY HOUSING ADVOCACY PROGRAM

No one should be left out in the cold.

During the winter months from December 1 through March 31, Hope Lutheran Church participates in the Freehold Clergy Association Emergency Housing Advocacy Program

This program provides homeless men a hot meal and a warm place to sleep. Volunteers in our congregation host the men at HOPE, while others sign up to prepare meals or serve as drivers.

HOPE hosts on Friday evenings, with other area churches hosting different nights of the week.

MEALS AT ST. PETERS

HOPE, along with other surrounding churches and organizations,  provide a Friday evening "Community Meal" for hungry neighbors of St. Peter's Episcopal church in Freehold Boro.

Three times a year HOPE provides 100 -200 meals for these events.  Menus are planned, food prepared, and meals delivered to St. Peter's for the 5:30 PM serving.  About 20 volunteers are needed to help make the meal run smoothly.

These meal nights take a great deal of organization and assistance but are a great opportunity to work beside your church friends for a rewarding & worthy effort .

BOSNIA International Service Travel Team

This is a ministry of the New Jersey Synod, ELCA, striving to build peace in Bosnia-Herzegovina through the wonderful children of this beautiful country.  Each year in June the New Jersey Synod sends a Travel Team to Bosnia-Herzegovina

Travel team members are the hands and feet of the ministry during the trip.  They lead the camp programs. They visit site and cities around the country.  They work, live, eat and drink, walk ride, play, pray, sing and dance with the beautiful people of Bosnia-Herzegovina.  Lucky them!  It is hard, challenging wonderful , life-changing work.

HLC Bosnia Mission Team’s Testimony

THANK YOU FROM US:
ALL of the members of Hope:

There is not enough thank you’s in the world to express how grateful we are for your support and love while preparing for the 20th Bosnia International Servant Trip!

The ministry is near and dear to each of our hearts for many various reasons and being able to share our passion and love with you is a blessing!

Every penny has helped us to share peace and leadership building with the kids in this beautiful broken country.

The kids each year remember who we are and even kids who are now adults in Bosnia remember our ministry and have shared how important it is to their life. YOU are a part of that beauty and growth and that is amazing!

Thank you,

Grace Burrows, Nicole Seitz, and Scott Weiss
